I love that pirates can be whoever they want to be, and that the tough "Argh, I want to kill things," is in stark contrast with the lace and women's jewelry that they usually don. I dressed as a pirate for six months for my year 12 studio, during which time I wore my first tailored jacket, made entirely by me, from a mountain of fabrics that I pillaged and plundered!"

"Because my parents live [at our vineyard] and they were home, I was paranoid and I went into another vineyard - someone else’s property. There was a tour bus there but I really didn't want my parents questioning me! I did end up getting bitten by mosquitoes but hopefully they didn't affect the photos."
