ARTISTS STATEMENT

Women's bodies are so often seen through a male gaze so when I found I Shot Myself, I was totally excited to be able to take my own body and view it through my own eyes, and to show others how I want to see it. To not criticise and belittle it, to be suprised by it's beauty, it's movement. The curves and the dips, the scars, the lines. I Shot Myself has helped me along the road to recovering love for myself and appreciating my body for it's amazing abilities and the things it allows me to do.
