"I have never been very comfortable with my body before, and have actually suffered from an eating disorder just a few years ago - I just recovered fully this year. So approaching a project that I had to be completely naked without the aid of any photoshopping or other concealment devices was terrifying! But once I got into it, very liberating. I think having the freedom to direct your own photos, and the creative control over what content is used is so important, particularly in the area of erotica and the display of the female form for titillation. I am bisexual, and currently in a lesbian relationship, and that to me was a really important turning point in the appreciation of the female body and the beauty of its sexuality - the appreciation and devotion to you and your body, rather than taking pleasure for the partner. I'd always been sceptical of erotic art and photography because it seemed generally so objectifying, so this project is so great to discover! I am always interested in trying out new things, and all the shoots I've done before have been very carefully planned and staged/etc, so doing something so loose and natural was very liberating - but also difficult! I got a bit stuck at one point because I was like...geez, how many more photos can I possibly take and surely no-one would be interested?? But it was fun to push through and just relax."

"This folio is inspired by boudoirs, jewels, textured carpets and sensuality... it was shot in a huge, light filled space and I was looking to capture a tapestry of angles and colour. I love the aquas and purples against the sheen of the white throw and the light and length of the mirror helped me to shoot some interesting perspectives."

"I had stayed in a beautiful apartment a few weeks before so had a sudden brainwave to try and sneak into the apartment block to utilise the (fairly private) rooftop terrace. It was a pretty perfect location for the shoot as there were loungers and a BBQ and panoramic views of the city. It felt pretty incredible to be naked and free up there! I started off feeling totally awkward behind the camera so it was a bit of a stilted start but quickly I got into it and the liberating feeling it created! However there were a few pretty close calls/embarrassing moments because most of the apartments are not yet filled and the real estate was conducting viewings which equalled red faces and a quick departure from the potential tenants! A cheeky builder popped his head through the door to see what was going on at one point too. I don't think I have ever whipped a sarong on so quickly. Despite some slight embarrassment, the shoot really was so much fun. I felt almost drunk by the end of it as it gave me such a high and having struggled with body confidence for years it was so great to feel so confident being naked behind the camera."

"I woke up in the morning really craving a stretch, so I tried to capture a little bit of my yoga practice nude in the backyard! I had a lot of fun - and nearly sustained a few injuries or a broken camera - trying to get some of these shots. Turns out one-handed yoga is a lot more of a workout than I thought! As always, the best part of I Shot Myself is playing around trying new things and getting more comfortable with my body and my sexuality."

Blessed with gorgeous porcelain skin and some truly excellent plum-hued hair, it is with great pleasure that we welcome Anastasia_T to ISM. Despite the space limits set by the little courtyard used to shoot in, Ana displays great knowledge in the fact that when you are this goddam exquisite, very little else is needed.

"The weather was beautiful when I did the shoot, the sun felt nice on my skin. I found it heaps of fun putting the flower in my vagina and rolling around on the grass. I wore no makeup so I felt very natural. I love how the photos turned out."

"The experience of the shoot was such an amazing experience and set me free. It allowed me to feel confident with my body, to play with my sexuality, to be proud of who I am, and to realise that beauty comes in different shapes and colours. It's only a perspective, the human body is beautiful and being able to see it for what it is, it released in me a lot of insecurities. It's such a unique experience being happy in your own skin, and acknowledging we all are beautiful and able to express ourselves however we want with no judgment or taboos. Love yourself xx"

"This shoot is the first time I have taken photos of myself without worrying about my body hair, bad tan lines, stretchmarks, skin imperfections, etc and it's the first time that I haven't been hiding anything. The things that we dislike about our own bodies are hardly even noticed by other people, or are in fact celebrated; this is something that I learnt recently and I always try to keep it in mind. I had some trouble trying to find private locations for this shoot, especially outdoors! But I had fun doing it and feel happy with the photos and experience."

"Doing this shoot was definitely harder than I thought it would be, not the being naked part but being able to take photos that I liked or were at an angle I thought looked good. Trying to make my bedroom into a studio, making the light nice and also trying to be creative. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to take enough pictures. It was a great experience though, as I become more comfy and just had fun, it became easy. This is the body I was given and I love it with its imperfections and all."

"I wanted to do the rest of my shoot outdoors. It's been raining all week so I'm finally going to take advantage of the nice weather. I bought new undies that are high-waisted, I'm very excited. Basically I'm just hoping to get a rustic look that is tasteful but fun. Because the weather's been so on and off everything is a mixture of inside and outside, and I live in a busy street so it's been hard to get everything together. You guys see what I have to deal with - the neighbour's here or my room mate's home or it's raining and all of that fun stuff. Anyway I hope it looks a little bit rustic."

"Organizamos con mi novio un dia de picnic, nos fuimos a la montana y en el bosque empezamos a caminar hasta llegar al lugar que mas nos gusto, ahi me saque la ropa y disfrute mucho de estar desnuda en la naturaleza, mientras mi novio cantaba canciones con su guitarra yo me sacaba las fotos explorando cada riconcon del bosque, reconociendo sus olores, texturas y colores. Hasta que la luz del sol cayo. / We organized with my boyfriend a picnic, we went to the mountain and in the forest we started to walk to the place we liked, there I took off my clothes and I enjoy being naked in nature, while my boyfriend sang songs With his guitar I would take the photos exploring every corner of the forest, recognizing their scents, textures and colors. Until the sunlight fell."

"Moving house again and I flashed back to how I had nothing 18 months ago and how at the time what I have now would have been a lot. This is why my theme for this photo shoot was minimalistic. I really feel like this has been an up-hill battle with body issues when I was younger and I finally feel womanly. I love the light in my life and reflection in the mirror as it embodies it all."

It would seem that Lilie is our resident eclipse; a much admired contributor that has been making a semi-regular appearance to our fair site since shortly after its conception. Today she delivers a folio that wonderfully illustrates her enviable beauty and talent and we are eternally grateful that this demigoddess has blessed us with over a decade of stunning folios.

"I went to one of my favourite places to do this shoot. I felt very comfortable with being naked and in comparison to the last time, I wasn't nervous at all about people coming to that place and seeing what I am doing. I even ran naked up and down the beach leaving my clothes far away. This made me feel very good and free. I had a lot of fun with myself."
