ARTISTS STATEMENT

I've always been a little bigger and a little more filled out than what is perceived as normal, but I never was ashamed of that. I've also always been a profoundly sexual person and enjoyed everything and anything to do with bodies and the way we love ourselves. I was sexually assaulted as a teenager by my then boyfriend, and he always took photos of me. I put on a lot of weight as a way to cope with the trauma and that was the first time I saw the extra space I was taking up as a bad thing. I have begun healing and taking back my body, and doing body positive things and encouraging self love and self empowerment is one of the best ways I've found to heal and be whole again.
