"This shoot was inspired by a new sense of self acceptance and also that of change. As the seasons change so do I. I felt a deeper connection of self and who I am. Plus I am proud to be me. Appreciating those rare rays of sunshine as the winter takes a tight grip. So its colder and we put on more layers of clothing, jumpers, tights and scarves. This got me thinking...when we strip it all back, what's underneath? From office to bedroom, I found a sense of desire to explore and play."

"I had a really enjoyable time doing Ishotmyself and it's an experience I won't forget! Feeling sexy and expressing my nudity is something I have just become comfortable with and I felt even more confident than I have in ages! I really loved finding different and exciting angles. It was great spending the time embracing my body while taking these pictures. Such a positive activity and fun to get creative with! Thanks ISM Xx"

"I felt pretty confident shooting myself. At some points it was a little difficult to find different positions. Anyway when I did the shoot I was listening to music and just shut my brain down and enjoyed exploring my own body. I was shooting at my friend's place and as soon as she left she was like "have fun taking pictures of your vagina". I think that was pretty funny."

"Recently I have been focusing on activating my divine feminine energy, and thought this photo shoot should be about how the 6 archetypal energies (Goddess, Queen, Priestess, Warrioress, Lover, Wise Woman) show up in my life, how they make me feel and flourish, and ways in which I am already embodying it. Once activated, you bloom like a flower! My journey through this shoot made me feel like a radiant Goddess rising from the earth. Yes the water made me shiver, the hammock ripping made me wonder, but it was truly a beautiful experience being able to express how divine feminine energy is flowing through myself."

"When I did this shoot I was very nervous, a bit uneasy. I'm not used to looking at myself in the mirror and I did that a lot for this shoot. I've become more accepting with my body and my features that I did not like before. I tried to push myself to come out of my comfort zone but it was very nerve racking. Each day I become more accepting of who I am. I'm also working and growing with my body and actually getting to know it more."

"This shoot definitely felt strange at first (mostly because I haven't used a camera to take photos of myself since my brooding, teenage Myspace days) but it didn't take long for me to get into the swing of things. The weather was beautiful and I could feel the sun kissing my skin as I was busy snapping away at all my bits. My neighbour did look a bit terrified, however, when she peeped out her window to find me snapping photos of my vagina in the garden...lucky lady eh!"

"It took me quite a long time to get around to doing my ISM video as I had my mind 100% set on doing it outside and just as I got my camera it rained without letting up for about 10 days. When I finally got around to doing it I stepped outside in my dressing gown with my camera and it was about 5 degrees! I was absolutely freezing! But I went through with it and seemed to stay warm due to my excitement."

"I had the absolute best time doing this shoot. I felt so confident and comfortable and was able to channel these feelings into my pictures. Initially I tried shooting on my balcony but as it was around 8am I started to notice a few people looking out through their windows from the neighbouring building! But I like to think I gave them something interesting to talk or think about as they headed off to work that morning. Maybe even inspired them to do a shoot of their own? Let's hope so!"

"I had to dig out a corner of my studio to use for the shoot, and when I say dig I mean dig. I am surrounded by boxes of power tools, foam, plastic, cardboard, paints, glitter and piles and piles of costumes and just cleared one precious corner. It felt like at any minute it could all come toppling in! The skull and costume bits and pieces I left because that's just part of my life, and also possibly because I had no-where left to pile things...Of course my cat Tiberius decided to get in on the action. Because he is cat. Also the sun came out and my desk was obviously not cleared for the shoot but for him to lie on. Oh and I wasn't paying him enough attention so clearly that needed to be rectified. Clearly he's the star of the whole shoot."
Oct 29, 2018 Redbird//"dinomite"
"It's no secret that I love dinosaurs, so I decided to pay homage to them and their most famous film, Jurassic Park. I took my clothing inspiration from Dr Alan Grant and went into my garden and attempted to also show off my super impressive plant growing skills. I have put on about 20kgs since the last time I did a shoot, and was initially nervous about sharing my new body with you all. After hardly any time at all, I looked at my dimples and rolls and fell in love with them a little. I'm a slightly chubby bespectacled lass who is a complete dork for dinosaurs and that is very much okay with me!"

"Born and raised in Hong Kong, being half Chinese and half Australian, some of my best memories are celebrating traditions like Chinese New Year. The sense of excitement at that time of year is palpable, not only because of the firecrackers and gifts of lai see, red pockets full of money. In a fast-paced city like Hong Kong, it’s the one time when people pause to appreciate life and look forward to the year ahead. This folio marks a point in time when I’m pausing to evaluate myself in a positive way. So, likewise, I wanted to incorporate personal symbols of hope and celebration into my shoot. The colour red: because in Chinese culture it denotes happiness and joy. Chopsticks: because sharing food is so important to Chinese traditions, and all my favourite meals are cooked at Chinese New Year. The classic red and gold ‘fu’ poster: because it’s hung on every door to represent good fortune arriving at that household. More than just props, these are signs of my identity, and remind me of times when I’ve been the happiest. Moving to Melbourne, my sense of self has changed and developed as I gain new experiences. I’ve learnt that there are many different ways to feel at home in a place. Hong Kong is my home, Australia is my home, my body is my home, and in this shoot I feel like I was able to incorporate all three."

"It was such a hot day when I did the photo shoot despite it being monsoon season already. I'm house sitting and everyone is out. I waited for the good light to hit the balcony, in front of it is an elementary school, haha, so I really tried not to expose myself outside. All of the shots are indoors, it would have been very creative to be out in the balcony, but I'd rather not want to get reported to the police or whoever. I struggled quite a lot holding the camera since I broke my phone and the camera is dead lol, so I tried to use my huge camera :). I tried to do weird poses and had to fix myself every time my annoying hair got in the way. It was difficult having to deal with the crazy humidity, but despite that I totally enjoyed tilting my body and making poses. I definitely had fun!"

"It was a really lovely spring day so I did my ISM shoot on a beach (with my friend keeping guard). I loved how naughty I felt to be out in the open, feeling naked and free. I almost got busted a few times by people walking past and even some cops were there at one point! Thankfully they didn't arrest me for indecent exposure though, haha."
Oct 27, 2018 Jazzy//"barbination"
"Until the age of about 15, I still continued to play with Barbie dolls. Regardless of how unrealistic or unattainable Barbie's appearance may be, to myself and undoubtedly so many women, Barbie is "perfect". I couldn't imagine living a life in which every day wasn't filled with new challenges that push me out of my comfort zone. Everyone pees every day, but not every day do you pee with an audience or on something! I love the rawness and almost vulgarity of exploring the artistic side and potentially sexy side to such a natural bodily function. Being much shorter, curvier, just very different in general to how Barbie would look if she was a real person, it was almost satisfying to be like - "fuck your representation of the perfect woman Barbie, you're being peed on."

"I'm in the middle of moving house/living with some peeps I don't know that well so I wasn't sure how this was going to go. I started as the sun was going down and it got dark really quickly so I tried again the next morning and the lighting was perfect! I felt like the "girl next door". There's apartments next to my room, I'm on the first floor, so I kept thinking if anyone were too look down and see this then damn aren't they lucky! I'm so pleased with how my photos turned out. I often say to myself when I feel daymn fine "WHO IS SHE!?" ...aha das me."
