Thanks but I'm one of those wierdos with a MAC, All that windows stuff is Greek to me. I just copied and pasted Mädchen with the umlaut from BOTATs reply and voila...

Under 'EDIT', at the bottom of the menu is Special Characters.  This opens the pallette.  Change the view to 'ALL',  and under catagory click on 'Latin'.  There you will find enough umlauts to make your endorphins run amok.

Geez.  I got umlaut, endorphins, and amok into one sentence.  Hey, Anna nerd,  wanna go umlaut amokking tonight???
