i love all kinds of music.  there is just so much great music around.
my favourite bands this week are placebo and alanis morisette and goldfrapp and neko case.
there are times when i just love to listen to a classical piece.
music and painting (and so many other creative outlets) just go together so well.

what i would like to know is....did everyone have music playing during their shoots???

Re: just being noisy

Haha! Noisy! I like it.

Tool, Gillian Welch, Primus, MC Frontalot, Waterboys/Mike Scott, Tori Amos, Rage Against the Machine, about a billion others.
I worked in record stores for several years and I have a decent collection from that time but I admit I haven't really kept up so much lately. People tell me I should listen to the Mars Volta and a bunch of other stuff but I hate listening to stuff in stores so I never get around to it.

Oh and Jamie, I didn't specifically put music on to shoot myself to but I could hear the random selection of mine and the husband's music playing in the lounge while I was fooling round on the stairs with my camera.

Re: just being noisy

I like lots of different music and I discover it mostly on the net. So I have loads of links and I thought I'd put some of them here so you can hear some of the music I like lately.

Recent favourate the Breeders Divine Hammer(takes 10 secs for page to load in) http://www.4ad.com/year/1997/video/divi … er-file-0/

This is exellent. Oh yes it is smile Pixies 'debaser' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mCoOlUjhlc

Gregory and the Hawk click on 'boats and birds' if it takes a long time to connect and play refresh the page and wait a little. It's worth the wait tho, this ones really nice http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu … 938997&a=1

Re: just being noisy

Lots of different stuff.

I guess my faves would be Bob Dylan, Tool, Pennywise (seeing them on sunday!!!!!), Johnny Cash, NIN, Offspring, Rammstein, Grinspoon... argh I always forget something so I'll stop there anyway and leave out more than one so they're not lonely.

My most public embarassing love, which I pump out my car stereo many times a week, is Aqua.  It's so chirpy and bouncy, I love it.

paintjam - no music for my shoot as I was about 300m from my shed with power, and part of my shoot I couldn't get a car up to.

Re: just being noisy

I was outside for one shoot with the new goldfrapp in the background, had the tv on for one shoot and none for the last one as no stereo in that room sad

I think using music would be a good idea though as its inspiring smile

Re: just being noisy

God I don't know where I would start with music.. because there is so much I love.  I'm into all different genres, eg metal, rock, punk, emo, pop, alternative, techno, dance....
I love A Perfect Circle.  Secondhand Serenade.  Staind.  Crossfade.  Dashboard Confessional.  Mudvayne.  Jimmy Eat World.  Hawthorne Heights.  Ill Niño.  Sevendust.  The Used.  Yellowcard.  Trust Company.  Mew.  Fall Out Boy.  Unwritten Law.  Flaw.
Yeah... I think that should be enough for now!

Re: just being noisy

I like anything from Bob Dylan to the Beastie Boys, Beck to Billy Bragg, Beatles to the Buzzcocks... OK I'll quit it with the alliteration! But what I'm listening to loads at the moment is Holly Golightly, who is amazing and really bluesy. The Pixies were the background to my shoot - the only band I can listen to whatever mood I'm in.

Re: just being noisy

Day after pennywise.  I had to peel my clothes off last night they were covered in so many people's sweat.

It took me about 4 or 5 songs, but I fought my way to the front.  And proceeded to have the barier crush my rib cage as everyone pushed.

Great times!  Though my body is a little battered and bruised today.

Sorry, not really the place, but I'm in a pretty good mood today and just wanted to mention why.
