Hiya all, I've been a little lite in my responses. For the last 3 days I have done a press announcement at the Google campus, formerly the Silicon Graphics Campus, right next door to Shoreline Ampitheatre.
We did a gig there last year, I wasn't involved, but my fellow workers came back with amazing stories. Here's what it's like to work for Google:
1. All food is free. A major food court represents many enthic cusines. The cooler sports every known drink from bottled water to organic juices. Acai (sp?) berry from the Amazon, Sobe, Jones Soda, etc. All free take as much as you want. Did I mention the Ben & Jerry's ice cream?
2. Each building and floor has it's own small cafe. Same price.
3. Bring in your laundry, it's $1.35 a bag. It'll be done when you leave work.
4. Free shuttle buses to bus stops, bus stations, train stations, and malls.
5. Every building has a massuse. Free. Each floor has a massage chair.
6. At the end of each row of cubicles are excercise machines. Of, course there is the main gym. Free.
7. All floors have video game lounges. Free.
8. Dinner is also served. Free. Bring the wife and kids.
9. Of the thousands of employees I saw there, maybe 10 were over 30. All were skinny.
10. I couldn't work there: I'd weigh 600#.
"Apple of my Eye", "bated breath", "brave new world", "caught red-handed" - all coined by Shakespeare.

I would trade it all for the ISM lunchtime office disco.

I really want in on that disco. Can't do much on the cash money front but I'm sure I can paint my TV remote silver and pass it off as a genuine prop from the original series. Would that do?
