Hello to all fellow Yanks and Anglos the world over
I hail from MARYLAND, USA!!! I most admire the mission statement of ISM.I am sure everyone does or they wouldn't patronize such an endeavor. I would like to get a sense of how the artists and forum contributors feel about the female pudenda. Here in America, I am inundated with the shaven, trimmed and modified pudenda. I can't help but accept this as not merely a trend but a norm. But I see that being HIRSUTE is still en vogue. I, on the other hand do prefer the shaved and the closely trimmed variety
Am I alone? I am a Yank after all. What do fellow Aussies think? Tell me like it is.
Question: In the spirt of tolerance and congeniality, I don't want to seem rude but sometimes I just want to describe something in its most base and primal way. Is that kind of expression allowed on this forum?

Hi 5NcrDF7T welcome to the forum.
I prefer trimmed, new shaven, or waxed. I've never heard of Pudenda before, it sounds like some sort of strange bicycle I quite like the word Yoni from Yonic art http://www.ifeelmyself.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=40 (which I pronounce like stoney)

It's best to be polite until you get to know someone a bit and then you'll know if they don't mind.

Well I truly feel the Pudenda is a Beautiful Thing.. whether it is shaved or natural.. I truly love the close shots of pudenda some of the contributors post on here, that is such a beautiful thing, I am just so grateful that the women here are so willing to just post the picture's.. to me Pudenda is a gift from the Heavens and being able to see it in any form is a gift from the Gods.
I just love this place and all you Beautiful Angels.. Thank you for being You!!

I prefer waxed with a little hair left on.
Waxed because it grows back better than shaving, there's not that rough, prickly, horribleness. It's still not nice and smooth forever, but it's a lot coarser if it's been shorn with a razor.

Well put- if you must be bare like a pre-pubescent, at least do it cleanly without stubble, and blotches. With all due respect for various preferences- I just cannot understand this shaving bit. Apparently it is something of a new trend and fashion, and fine, I have been around for quite a long while, and slow to change what I am used to. I have had my share of lovers, and not one has been stubbly, spotty, shaved (thank the fates!!) some have fooled around with a little trimming, but even that makes the hairs more prickly than silky, not inviting at all!
So much of sexual attraction is reinforced Pavlovian fashion, and I'm sure that has a lot to do with the trend, and I don't doubt that I could get used to it if I had to and probably even find it attractive after many positive experiences, but for now, YUK!
Also, aside from the natural wholesomeness of a nice muff, there is no hidden treasure in a shaved one, no mystery or special privilege to discover what hides within...

Without wishing to detract from your preferences, I feel that I have to state that naked pubes are not a new trend. I have been permanently shorn for over forty years and I know that I'm not unique.

Hmm, thanks for setting me straight, Bel - I wonder if it is a European (dare I put the UK in the EU re sexual fashions?) and we Yanks are just behind the times, or if I just travel in furry circles, skewing my sample...
-and of course, I wish to reiterate that I too, honor others' preferences - which is one reason I have kept mum on this when it has come up before.

...and which is why I haven't chosen to pipe up on the subject before this, either. It's of course totally up to the proprietress of the naughty bits; she just needs to do whatever she's comfortable with (or excited by, or whatever). I'm kind of hyper-vigilant about not being that guy who can't see past his own fetishes to appreciate someone who's appealing in a way which doesn't conform to his pattern. I know, for example, that if I see a set by a woman with chipped nail polish or dirty fingernails, there's at least one viewer out there who just can't see anything past that, and can't help but chime in chiding her for not having perfectly trimmed and painted talons. There are people who can't seem to avoid giving fatherly advice about tattoos, and omigawd the scolding about smoking! To me, all the above personal quirks can be hot in context -- for example, when I was a wee twentysomething, I was privileged to date the occasional chipped-nail-polish downtown NYC art-school nymphet, so the look resonates for me. But even if I don't find them appealing, so what? This site, as I understand it, is meant to be less for the viewers than the models -- but we're privileged to look at how the models choose to present themselves, and appreciate or not.
But yes, I certainly have my own reaction to various grooming approaches Down There, which can basically be summed up as: razorburn and stubble are gross. A cleanly naked set of lady bits can be a treat for the eyes (and I disagree with those who contend that lack of hair necessarily looks prepubescent -- I think a grown woman's bits tend to develop a different look, deeper colors, and if she's not an "innie", visibly more pronounced labia). My only problem with shaving is that a day or so down the line, there tends to be an aftermath of stubble and zits, unless the woman uses more sophisticated techniques than anyone I've been with, and that aftermath is, to me, far less appealing than natural tufts (which are appealing in their own way, anyway). I tend to find underarm tufts more appealing than stubble there, too, while nonetheless inconsistently being a little grossed out by inner-thigh, face and leg hair (despite a politico-cultural wish to like them :-)).
You see what an inconsistent mish-mash it is? And fundamentally, it's none of my damned business. A woman should do what she's comfortable with, and if I hit it off well enough with someone, I'll probably grow to like however she grooms herself. Or not, whatever.

I'm not sure about being lumped together with the rest on Europe on this subject. I know that the French have a distinct tendancy away from the removal of body hair.
My reason was for commencing the removal of my hair was a practical one. It used to get stuck in my tights when I was dancing and the practice just became a habit.

As for myself, I don't have any real preference, so I usually leave it up to my partner. If there's more than one, I either leave it up to the one who cares more about it, or I alternate between styles. *grin* I have gone years without shaving, but I've also gone years shaving as well. As for other girls...I really just don't care. I can see why it may have gotten popular - a shaved pudenda often allows you a better, more graphic look at her beautiful vulva, and the hair is less likely to get into your mouth.
My only problem with shaving is that a day or so down the line, there tends to be an aftermath of stubble and zits, unless the woman uses more sophisticated techniques than anyone I've been with
My tips: use scent-free stick deodorant right after shaving (ever wonder why your armpits never get razor rash?), and perhaps touch-up for a couple of days after that, particularly where the underwear elastic rubs against the legs. (Or go commando!) Also, shaving stubble is more likely to irritate, so I try to space it out as much as I can. Also, be extra careful on the mons, and be sure to shave with the growth, and try not to press the razor down very hard.
And Jenna Jameson recommends shaving with Neosporin, but I've never tried THAT. For some reason it strikes me as a bad idea.

Thought Id add my two pence
Ive tried all different varieties of hair - lots, some, trimmed, none, one line... not because im incredibly bothered but just coz I get bored in the shower sometimes lol.
I think waxed bikini line and neatly short hair thats been conditioned with conditioner (no sharp edges here!) is best as its nice and also practical - though I have nothing against my women being shaved/waxed off but being too hairy really turns me off - any kind of stubble or super fluffy amounts of hair isnt good in my book but again - if i loved somone I wouldnt care... I think its just a personal taste and its great that theres all different choices and styles...
That reminds me: at Pepes hair in Camden, London, UK they do synthetic pubes! I wish they had a website to show you as it sounds like an April fools, but seriously - multicoloured dreds, plastic pubes, long braids! wouldnt fit in my thong lol

Back in my college days when the strippers weren't allowed to be totally naked, they wore a "merkin", a furry triangle over the crotch, with a clip up the backside. Yep, it was held on by clipping on underneath. I'll be damned if I can understand how it held on to an active dancer. Unless, of course, it plugged into an area I don't even want to think about.
"Apple of my Eye", "bated breath", "brave new world", "caught red-handed" - all coined by Shakespeare.

Wow, such a variety of resonses. I love pushing buttons especially the "button" if you know what I mean ha ha!
Listen.I think there is a perception out there that there is an unnatural perverse or prurient purpose if someone's "bed hair" is shorn, trimmed or whatever. Trust me, I am not a perv. I have a healthy respect for most things feminine. (If a guy says that he "understands" a woman then he is lying his ass off). I don't know how the sex industr(ies) in Oz deals with this aspect of a woman's right but here in America, the shaven/trimmed debate is so far reaching that pornstars may have made it fashionable initally, but nearly every woman has taken a liking to it. My statement is based on the popularity written about and experienced by women. For sure, there is a titilating, fetishistic aspect to it. But nearly everything in life can be obsessed over and made all the more unreasonable. With polite respect to all those who still maintain the natural look, I praise thee. But had I not responded to the idea that there is something sinister in desiring a smooth look, I would not have done justice to my own question.
I am a libertine at heart and I do sorely wish that the Founding Fathers weren't such prudes and saw beauty in the natural, sumptuous canvas that a woman's body is but we have to deal with the censorious nature of this country and I think that part of the natural reaction is to despise or criticize, even in jest to what is/what has already begun to be an ordinary preference for many women.
No harm. No foul. I welcome any pro/con response. I'm not really an Yank. I am Korean by birth if that helps any but I've lived here for most of my life.

SCSIgirl, there was a racehorse here called Merkin, people couldn't believe that the name got through the boards as they are supposed to not allow such names for racehorses. Would have been funny to hear the race caller.
A merkin is different to synthetic pubes though because synthetic pubes wouldn't be because it's illegal to show off you entire naked being, but because people want dreads for pubes...

Oh yes there is! Shaved or unshaved it still needs unpeeling.

I want a merkin!!! I wonder where I can get one from ..
Which area do you not even want to think about ??? I'm surprised that there is an area of the female body which you dont want to think about..
Perhaps the merkin can be stuck on with the same latex glue stuff you stick false eyelashes on with.

NO, they clipped on. I saw one loose and it had a wire that went back up the butt. I was suggesting that it "plugged in" in the back, but the wire curled out. The best description I can come up with is, if you look at it from the side, It profiles like an upside down capitol "R". I just don't see how it hung on to someone active like a dancer, unless she kept her cheeks under full tension for the entire dance!! (Or it plugged in).
