very funny Blissed!!!!! I actually really do like bees. You know that in one species of bee the male isn't allowed back into the nest once his pollinated the bee pod thingys!

I did nothing naughty Friday night!!!
As for chopping up bees- I usually use larger insects for my mad entomologist stuff. I imagine it would be quite difficult to remove bee wings by hand!!

No no no!!! I buy them from the museum and the money goes to research and sustainability in the rain forrests where they come from!! I also collect (and have all my friends collect) dead insects.

I've got a really good photo she made on my drive of an insect hybrid in motion against a swamp background, and is printed 9 ft high and part of a series of giant pretend insects, which I think is a really cool idea and worthy of any pretend award with no cash prize *gives award*........... *applause*

Okay, you guys had me worried there for a moment.  After I wrote that reply, I cleaned my car out a bit and found a huge bumble bee dead under my passenger seat.    So in honor of his/her existence, I'm going to pull out the macro lens and do my best to get some good pictures and create an avatar for use on here.  He/she will be infamous!  At least for a couple of months until I get bored with it.

Way cool-   if someone could tell me how to put photos on these posts, I have a few photos and a considerable interest in our 6-legged distant relatives (OK REALLY distant, but still relatives) that I could have some fun sharing about.

(I tried a jpeg the other day, but my Attachment didn't seem to appear, so I canned the whole post)

The images aren't hosted on the ISM servers, you have to upload them to a site that will host them.
Go to image shack and upload your photo.

Once you've done that  you get a page there with all the addresses you could possibly need to link to your photo. copy and paste the address from the last dialog box, the one that says direct link. Then, press the quote button at the bottom right hand corner of this post and you'll see the code for the photo below. Copy and paste this code into your own post. In the code you'll see the direct link address in quotation marks there.  just replace this with your own direct link address and your picture will be seen. It takes a few goes and if your anything like me we'll see your pictures by the middle of next week
Allright, just ask if you get stuck though.

whew!   thanks !  (?)  I'm still trying to get my balance from that sideways photo of the Moon-  great photo though, of course! 

I think I am going to copy your post, try to break it down into numbered steps, (have another glass of wine or two) and work on it tomorrow...

I'd love to go into space and my mum used to say she'd buy me the ticket if she could (that was when I was a kid. Being asked thousands of questions a day used to drive her nuts) Anyway, I wouldn't want to be in the shuttle, it's too cramped and smelly. I want a floating hotel with big picture windows overlooking earth and big spaces to fly around in, cheat at juggling, actually I wonder if you could juggle water or any liquid that forms into a ball. I think I'd be interesting and a lot of fun, if a bit messy.

Well done, Maxi!   I am still fiddling around with that image import thing- I guess I could just bull ahead, (now that you have boldly shown me up) - I was making the mistake of back-tracking to try to see my photo at the Image Shack location before proceeding, and kept having trouble and getting pissed (that means angry here in Yank-land) and quitting...

cool photo, was it fresh or crunchy?  (maybe you didn't really eat it... )  I cannot quite make out the details, was it a moth or a butterfly?
