Whoever you are MURRAY and edwine.

I'm hoping that you sometimes read the forum because it would be good if you could come forward and apologise. I don't think anyone would hate you for doing that. You have to understand that when you submit a folio you don't forgo any right to self respect. Quite the opposite. Your due respect for having the courage to submit your work. and more, if that folio is good, your due some kudos just as much as if you'd given pleasure in any other way by writing or making music. I hope you can understand this or come to understand it in the future, The problem for now is, if your liable to make further comments like this, your injuring the financial viability of the site.

Re: Whoever you are MURRAY and edwine.

No amount of lynch mobbing or vigilantism/knight-in-shining-armourism is going to get anyone to change their behaviours I'm afraid, blissed.  It's a noble sentiment, but the point/s have been made, on many occasions, and it's up to the individual to decide whether or not they've behaved badly, or indeed if an apology is in order.  Being a faceless entity on a medium such as the Internet affords - unfortunately - some the liberty to be less considerate of the things they say to others.  Of course you don't have to be accountable if you're not directing a comment to someone's face in person, and are not witness to their reaction of hurt/anger, etc.

But anyways.  It's their choice as to how they behave, and whether or not they deem it beneficial to eventually evolve into relatively considerate human beings.  Self-initiated personal growth, and all that.

Luckily, we have kick-arse artists who will stick up for themselves if they feel somebody's acting the wanker.  Or Liandra_Dahl, weilding a big stick.  And for those artists who don't say anything, for whatever reason, at least there's the forum regulars to reassure them that the world's not completely filled with "Nice tits, shame about the arse/tatts/metal" types.

Well said Catt. It's unfortuate, but true. I am glad the ISM staff are so good about monitoring the comments, because that really must be a terrible feeling to open yourself up so much and share something so intimate and beautiful with the world and then have someone say something nasty about it. I really admire ISM girls for the courage they have to render themselves so open and exposed. Regardless of whether their grooming habits, body piercings, tattoos, or body type happen to fit my, or anyone else's preferences, the very act of sharing themselves like that is beautiful and is to be commended. The rest is superficial and subjective, as different people have different preferences. As for the rude people that don't agree, and post insulting comments, I doubt they read to forums anyway.

BTW Catt, cute face! (Too bad about the ears) ;o)

Bless your cotton socks, hon.  That photo was taken (drunk) about 2 years ago - I've since puffed up a fair bit sad  Not for long, though - I have a wedding dress to cram my third buttcheek into...
Oi!  The cat ears/whiskers make it!

(And, agreed)

That's true, lynch mobbing or vigilantism/knight-in-shining armourism  are aggressive and not persuasive, so  usually only entrench attitudes. That's not what this thread is about though.
It's an attempt to comunicate  directly with the people who made the comments, because I think that compared to most adjustments in life, the mental journey between making those comments and not making them, is in fact quite small. So I think that after the initial condemnation, communicating directly with the people who made them, in a consilatory way, giving a good account of your views, is gonna be productive smile
