Yeah but gerem off's not funny. (It just doesn't work sorry)
Theres nothing wrong with bush tucker anyway it's the staple diet in many relationships
Shall I compare thee to a summers day. It's a bit of a shame but  that first lines been so over used. A  bit like heaven must be missing an angel (now theres real poetry ) Anyway it really is a  shame because the rest of the poem is lovely.

I don't speak spanish so I listened to the MP3s of the poems read allowed.  I was listening out for lyricality (If thats a word) but there more of an earnest narration of ideas, and the emotion translates through to english, so does the spontanius almost random train of thought.
I personally feel that If someone else's poem is spot on and expresses exactly how you feel about someone, that's great, but if it isn't, it tends to feel a bit like a cynical seduction device. I don't know, praps thats just me.
Anyway, it's much better if in a card you put your own words, then it's straight from the heart, even if it's crap

I used the expression "Gerem Off" simply because that is exactly what I received in a card a few years ago and I agree it isn't funny, or even sensual and certainly didn't endear me to the sender.

What does Gerem Off mean?
When I was in Mexico I got hissed at. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was going on until my Spanish teacher Paulo explained that it was Mexican equivelent of "show us ya tits".

Getting hissed at sounds a bit menacing though even if you know what it means.
They should have just said Usted tiene mamaries exquisitos. Which sounds a a lot better. I've just taken that from a poem by Neruda I expect you'll be getting a sackfull of Valentine cards like you probably do every year while I won't be getting any because I'm sad and lonely and nobody loves me.

What does Gerem Off mean?

"Gerem Off" is colloquial expression/ejaculation from the North of England which, expanded into plain English, means "Get them off". This can be translated variously as, "show me what you've got!", "I want to lay you now!" or "I'm well passed my eyeballs in lager and I feel like being crude!"

.. as in " with live Acidophilus cultures" as opposed to having been pasteurized before marketing, thereby killing the little critters living in the mix who have made the yogurt. 

If you ever have to take a course of antibiotics, it's a good idea to eat lots of live yogurt afterwards, as the antibiotics will kill your "intestinal fauna" as it were, which are very beneficial if not necessary for good health.  Of course you will eventually reestablish this internal zoo anyway, as there are microorganisms on about everything, but the live yogurt give a big boost of the "good guys" to get you back on track.

Speaking of intestinal fauna, you Aussies may know the story of Zoo people trying to raise Koalas in captivity- you know how they just love to take the babies away from their mums and bottle-feed them.  it is interesting, but not something to read at breakfast...  if anyone is interested I will elaborate. 

I wish I could grow papaya pawpaw here!! yum.

Gee....  the only time I've ever gotten Yeast in my ears was when my face was buried too deep in certain epicurean delights.  (No, I'm not talking about your bowl of live yogurt.)  I'm talking about that 'sweet stuff' we discussed in an earlier thread.
