pardon my ignorance, but i have never been good at keeping up with pornslang. what does gonzo mean? i see it once in awhile and am completely confused. maybe there are some other bits of terminology or dirty words folks want to share so that we can all be enlightened and sound cool at the coffee shop when the inevitable porn conversation comes around. i know i don't want to look like a square.

"gonzo" is a word derived from the Beat ethos whereby the writer cannot remove themselves from the subject they're investigating. Wikipedia has some interesting things to say on the topic. The crux of it is about being involved in your story to the extent that you're also part of it... it's not really a 'porn' term per se.

-This may not be very helpful in the current context of the slang usage, but I think some of the Forum Folk enjoy a bit of the obtuse & obscure, - this is from 2 printed-paper sources Of course, they don't have an electronic definition of the word, "mouse" either, and no doubt the meaning of "Gonzo" has evolved as well (at least for those who accept Evolution as a real phenomenon...)
From Webster's New World Dictionary 1988:
Americanism. -from Italian, "Blockhead" 1. adj. bizarre, unrestrained, or extravagant: used esp. of a style of personal journalism 2. crazy or foolish
and from The Dictionary of American Slang 1986:
1. adjective: from early 1970's - Insane; wild; bizarre; confused.
( also says it is from the Italian, "credulous, simple, too good" )
Then there's Ted Nugent - self-styled Gonzo Guitarist : "Double Live Gonzo!" (1978)

This is the non-technical reply: it means "GO FOR IT."
Gonzo when you jump off a cliff. Gonzo when you dive out of an aeroplane. Gonzo is when there is no fakey script, no pre-arranged setting or plan. Just have sex. Shane is pretty much the founder and queen of Gonzo porn in America. "Here's me, here's the camera person, let's do it." She was 10 years ahead of the "reality" TV shows, and I honestly think that is where they got the idea. Shane and the movie "Network".
It is interesting to watch "Network" nowadays and note how prophetic Paddy Chayefsky was 30 years ago. Everything he predicted in that movie script has come to pass.
"Apple of my Eye", "bated breath", "brave new world", "caught red-handed" - all coined by Shakespeare.

I reckon it's quite a nice short word for spontaneity.

It is my understanding that, in a porn context, Gonzo refers to a scene where the photographer/camera operator is also involved in 'the action' with the model whilst filming it.
The I guess that ISM pictorials are Gonzo but the ISM videos are not if the camera is on a tripod - only Gonzo when the video camera is held by the model.
I hope this helps.
Have a happy day .... Paulie

I saw something in an ISM comment that I didn't know the meaning of too, and googling didn't help. I'm sure it isn't a porn term, but this seemed like the thread to use to find out what it meant.
My sweet delicious darling goddess Laetitia referred to herself as a "Morena" in a comment she made on her own most recent folio.
Forgive my ignorance if this is really dumb, but what is a Morena? Is it something South African?

My Spanish is patchy at best, but I remember 'morena' being used to describe women with dark looks - dark hair, dark eyes, dark skin.
