Belated  -  Happy Australia day to the site down under. (Jan 26th)

It's on all my calendars  but I have no idea what it is for.

Is it freedom from those mean ol' Brits ;-}???   Or is it Go Out And Shake Hands With A Roo day???

Or is it Be Nice To Lollies day??

I have heard they don't like these.

I'm currently stage managing a play about the First Fleet. On the 26th I went out with my cast with the intention of getting drunk on Foster's, but our regular bar didn't have it. So we just drank regular beer and talked in bad Australian accents. It was the best we could do.

As an Australian I am an expert on both drop bears and Australia day. As it happens I offer political asylum to a couple of young drop bears who refer to Jan 26th not as Australia day but invasion day! My drop bears make a terrific disincentive for Jehovah witnesses and I find that a concoction of garlic and fish oils constantly burning in the house and around the garden keeps them perfectly docile and quite cuddly.

Oh and SCSIgirl we were never arsed to get "freedom from those Brits". We are still not yet a Republic .... I do believe this is so we can win lots of medals in the Commonwealth games! Or maybe its because Jarvis Cocker is soooo fucking cool!!!

I suppose their alright as long as you keep them on the ground. It's nice to enjoy your own garden without the risk of a big fat ass hitting you on the head. Actually It would be a great help if Australia I think was excluded from the commonwealth games. We could even do it this year. I don't think that would be unreasonable. It would give everyone else a chance. Apparently. because I haven't got any interest in watching  sport at all really, except somebody last week mentioned the womens figure skating championships. Which are quite interesting. You definitely don't want to be a Republic. Because you'd miss out on all the news about the royals like what Charles had for breakfast or  that William's hurt his finger, which along side what happens in the big brother house is pretty vital information.  I'd love to go to Australia and practice my crappy Australian accent on the Australians, and see what happens.
Anyway,
