I myself like chocolate chip!
I'm boring, and like oat/museli cookies. With extra nuts *winks*

Raisins are excellent, too. I'm fully prepared for my descent into Nannadom, as I love museli, junket and prunes.
Yes, yes, it keeps me regular, but my friends think I'm a dork, too.

Pardon me for being american, but I can't keep googling these treats you speak of. Google has been feeding Shannon lies!!! tehe. So what is junket?

Catt, your green dot has turned red and I still don't know what "junket" is. The first Google match for "junket Australia" is something about Hilliary Duff.
Also, hello to dmbhead, shannon, head, mikhail, wantingscott, SCSIgirl, belagreth, jdudley76, liandra_dahl, zille, MrPicMe, voyer2 and all the regulars I missed (sorry!). If anyone wants some coffee or tea (yes, I've been taught to make a proper cup of tea) to go with your cookies, I'm supplying.

I was raised by my grandparents, so have an unshakable fondness for the 'poor foods' of the times, including this somewhat bizarre space-food-treat.
Junket is this weird, horrid custard/whey-like concoction, made by crushing a tiny flavoured pill and adding milk. You then put it into the fridge and, hey presto, you have a 'dessert' that is easily digested by the oldies.
I used to love it *S*

...I also love a good, strong (2 teabags) cup of tea, so I say Aye. Again, with the whole nanna thing.

I used to like butterscotch Angel delight when I was a kid (Powder. Add milk and whisk into a light frothy mouse)
I've given up eating sweets for quite a while.
Now. you can just give me a banana, and I'm happy

What's your favorite tea? I love just about any varation from the folks below. Especially the black tea variety they call Wild Blueberry Fair Trade Certified. Their Assam Breakfast black tea is pretty darn good too. I found their more expensive white teas to be a little weak, not near the flavorful cup of a strong black tea with a bit of cow cream and sugar added.

Unfortunately here in town is the Pacific Cookie factory. You can go to the factory and buy "seconds" for half price. Besides the stock types, they make a chocolate chip with macadamia nuts. Hot out of the oven, they will be the death of me.
Just put a dozen in my coffin, please. And don't forget the coffin key........

What! Do you want to lock yourself and your cookies in there, or do you want to at least have half a chance to hop out and get some more when your stash runs out?

If I'm going traditional, or need a comfort tea, it's Earl Grey all the way. Hot, strong and sweet.
I also like hippy teas, too - green teas, ginger and peppermint...oo, and licorice teas! There's a tea in Australia called Snake Bite, which is all about the aniseed. Am a big fan of tea accessories ('kitchen porn'), too - the eggcup strainers, etc.
However, coffee has its place. But only REAL coffee - not that instant crap. If you're going to drink coffee at all, it must be the good stuff.

Just like chocolate. Don't mess around with the junk chocolate, it's premium stuff all the way.

Oh, great! Except for junket, of which I have no experience, I love all that stuff, too, including oat/museli and nuts. Ok, here's the acid test: do you like fruitcake? I think I'm one of the 39 people in the world that does. The rest detest it and use it for doorstops and paperweights. Or projectiles.

Exactly. I'm not big into chocolate, but if I'm going there, it's dark and it's dutch.

O, yes! I make fruitcakes at Christmas time - my friends either love them, or are very adept liars. But I understand why some people might not dig 'em.
As for museli, I like the toasted stuff - lots of dried fruit, nuts, and other goodies. To me, a bowl of museli, usually with sliced banana and yoghurt, is better than anything (it's my chocolate...) - except maybe a smoothie? Damn, now I'm hungry.

Hey Wanting, if you're watching this thread....
I'm not much into fudge, but up in Portland, Maine, there is mom & pop shop called Len Libby. They make a fudge that is soooo creamy it'll give you plots. Sure tastes and feels good going down, though. Eat in extreme moderation.

SCSI- hate to say it, but you know how the Scicillians do Christmas Eve. Mrs. Wanting made some excellent homemade fudge to bring to her uncle's house. i camped out with most of a half-gallon of milk and ate away...
the closest i've been to Maine is Stephen King (huge fan) and a business trip to Portland a few years back...
