Ok, it's my turn to ask for cheering up now. Especially from Catt. She always makes me smile.

[QUOTE=SCSIgirl]This is just for the other half of Scott,  and maybe it will crack the Liandra doldrums too.

Thanks, SCSI. i'll share that one with Christine. by the way, her Uncle Nick did tell me a Sicilian joke...

Vito and his new wife Maria were getting on the boat to go to America, but first Maria's dad Carlo pulles Vito aside for some words of advice.

Months pass, and Maria sends home a letter about how awful America is and about what a horrible husband Vito became. Maria's dad takes the next boat over to America.

"Vito, whata the fuck a wrong wit you treata my daughter?"

"He always washa his face. He obsessed wit hisa face!!!" Maria yells. "He also terrible ina bed!!! He always on top!!!"

Vito, scared by Maria's dad, explains, "Carlo, you tolda me 'keepa you nose a clean and DON'T FUCK UP!!!"

Aww, you're a sweetheart jdudley76!  I'm somewhat (in)famous amongst my online peers for my (typically x-rated) Google Image Search 'prowess', so just for that, I'm offering you my alltime favourite found image of 2005 - although this one's fairly tame by comparison.  I find it fascinating/beautiful, and love it so much that it's my current desktop.  Enjoy!

(photo snipped to avoid spamming forum)

I was Googling 'nurse porn' (I have my reasons) and stumbled upon this gem.  Whether it's a nurse or not isn't really important - but whomever took this x-ray was serious about his/her craft - the woman's head is shaved and the detail throughout is exquisite.

As said, I love this picture.

Now you've said that, I've looked at it a bit closely, and it did have me fooled. Because I thought it was one whole x-ray. Then I noticed the guy is actually  a negative, and you can't see his leg bones or the bones in his fingers. So I think It's a very well constructed photoshop image, with the head being a well chosen medical x-ray. It's still a good picture though.

I don't think I insinuated that the image wasn't genuine?  I believe that it is.  I was calling the piece 'art' (but everyone has differing viewpoints on this, so that's another heady can o' worms).

Having had a fair amount of (comparitively) unsexy x-rays taken of my person over the past few years, I can estimate from experience that the lack of bone visability in the man's thighs doesn't necessarily indicate image doctoring - just relative thickness distancing flesh and bone, dictating clarity of detail.

<center><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v427/Cattasha/HeartX-Ray.jpg"/></center>

I'm a big fan of x-ray images (as mentioned, I've had a few of my own, which began my fascination with the medium) - and because I'm in a sharing kinda mood, here's a favourite from my own personal stash.  The 'loveheart' plate was there to protect my reproductive girlie bits from extraneous radiation, and is probably the main reason why I find this image so appealing.

Re: pick me up

[Edit: Ooh well you've posted a couple since I posted the stuff below., Those other x-rays do look intertesting I don't know how risky it is doing x-rays as art.]

Well, I've had another look at it by inverting it so it's a negative. It looks like the guy is a positive image lit by ultra violet light, and the x-ray is reversed to a positive to fit. It is an intriguing image.
I'm going to show it to a dentist and she can tell me what she thinks.

I PM'd it to MrsRoops who's on the AW boards. Thanks for the image. I've been collecting all sorts of stuff. Usually really silly pics and  Animations. But also some text art. I like this

It's come out a tiny bit wide but I still like it. There is a massive one of the statue of liberty that prints out about 2 feet long but it jumbles up when you try and paste it to forums.

I just find it interesting how images are made, To make a video that genuinely looks all x-rayed would be really good.

Oh I'm sure that she would. I made the comment because I find a facination in the way that these threads migrate their content and context. They are real time examples of the game of Chinese Whispers.

Re: pick me up

I quite like the way threads migrate. Much like conversation

Well the hotly awaited verdict on the pic from MrRoops, AW resident dentist, is that an x-ray wouldn't pick up hairs and thumbnail detail. She thought it was an obvious fake, though it had me fooled for a while, I agree that x-rays as art is an  interesting idea. My own dentist uses a new 10% normal radiation dose system which would be ideal for inanimate objects. If you've got any questions about x-rays Liandra might PM Mrs R for you. Dentists use them everyday and know a certain amount about them. She gave me this one. http://txc.net.au/~mapie/xray.jpg
It's a subject matter that sadly I'm all too familiar with myself.

I think to make the x-ray video, I could use a static cam and light everything with UV, then take the same shot with people and superimpose, so they would be see-through and animate real x-rays on top of that later.

Um - no, am not 'mad' at you.  I've been chatting with you just now, right?

Our personalities kinda clash, and I have to watch my mouth a tad when I communicate with you - but am certainly not mad.  If I let every little thing on the Internet (of all places!) get to me, I'm afraid my head would implode from the sheer futility of breathing.

There are far bigger and more pressing things to get upset over in this modern world, that's for sure.

Catt,

You can steer this particular horse in any way you think fit as I happen to like your sense of humour. Anyway, highbrow is often synonymous with high-horse and I'm only a short-arse so I can't ride a high-horse ...........................

Ha!  This transluscent panty line is probably as close as I'll currently get to doing an ISM folio.  However, how many ISM girls can lay claim to displaying faint traces of intestinal tract and accompanying pockets of internal gas in their folios?  That's right, none!  And don't go telling me these things aren't hot...

As a photg,  I would say it could be genuine.  There are bones in his fingers.  The dark shadow of his torso could be the famous lead blanket to protect unnecessary items from being x-rayed.  It has a straight edge.

I'd volunteer my seldom used grey matter to be x-rayed for a reversal pic.  I just need a good muff to help out.
