Themed Shoots

Today's Stevie got me thinking of what makes one ISM shoot stand out from another.  An outstanding model will always garnish attention.  But they seem to come in groups.  We will get 3-4 days of supurbly beautiful models and we don't know who to vote for or if we should wait and see what the rest of the week will bring.

Stevie put a set together AND gathered props AND had herself preped  (painted) AND was a gorgeous model herself.  In other words,  she put a lot of forethought and preperation into her shoot.  I doubt very many models pay attention to their backgrounds like Stevie did.

Also this week, Lylac presents a stunningly beautiful set.  Not just of herself,  but in her lighting, her background, her composition,  and her use of props (water).  The whole set was so well concieved,  I would swear it was done by a high level professional.  Her folio is like Pictures At An Exhibition.  You stop at every picture study them and go through the gallery slowly.  Lylac is truly an artist.

Also this week, Zille presents the next installment of her soap (pardon the pun) opera which is elegant in it's simplicity.  A simple mundane daily task becomes a Hemmingway classic.  It is clean, simple and carries it's messsage.

I guess what I'm looking for is some way to elevate the supurb folios.  We cannot vote for the best because of the "one-vote-a-week".  There are weeks when we pick the best girl of the week,  but none were outstanding.  There are weeks when we pick the most beautiful girl,  but her folio wasn't necessarily the as good as she was.  There are weeks  (like this one) where many classics are presented at once and we try and choose.

I'm rambling,  but do others feel the same way???

Re: Themed Shoots

There has to be ONE thing that makes one set better than another. Just vote for the best, and it all will come out okay in the end.
