I am having a really hard time telling the difference between these ratings.
I can clearly see that M rarely has graphic shots of the pink bits (did I get that usage right, UK people?).
But the difference between R and X seems much more subjective. I tried to see if insertion or toys were common to X (and not occurring in R) but it seems not to be so.
Do you need these ratings (i.e., legal issues), or are you just trying to guide our browsing (probably a plus for those who are not on broadband)?
If you are going to keep them, perhaps an explanation in the FAQ would be helpful. (If it is already there and I missed it, apologies for the airtime).

They're just a guide. R means lots of full frontal nudity, X means explicit content. 'Pink bits' is probably an accurate description.

M = Things that make you go Mmmmmm.
R = Umm... rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! (Makes more sense when you say it. Oh well.)
X = eXpect the uneXpected. or eXhilarating. Blah.
But then again, just about every folio makes me go Mmmmm!! lol.
