Good morning ISM forum.
Today I want to address the use of the word ‘girl’ when commenting on folios, or discussing contributors on forum posts.
Going forward, I ask all of you to be mindful when referring to a contributor. Using the word ‘girl’ implies child or teen, whereas ‘woman’ implies adult.
I acknowledge that some of you wouldn’t have known this, nor been called out on it – however now you have been informed.
I could write an essay on this subject and the complexity of the word, however it is up to you to do the work and educate yourself further.
Words hold meaning and using a word that implies someone is under the age of 18 is gross.
I look forward to the appropriate conscious change you will be adapting going forward.
This is not open to discussion.
