OMG - I cannot stop listening to 'The Knife'
http://grooveshark.com/#!/the_knife/albums
so far i've just been listening to Deep CuTS (2003) & Shaking the Habitual (2013) on repeat.
Here are some things from wikipedia which explain just why they are very very very cool...
"The Knife won the Swedish Grammis award for Pop Group of the Year in 2003, but they boycotted the ceremony by sending two representatives of the Guerrilla Girls, with the number 50 written on their costumes, as a protest against male dominance in the music industry. Their album Deep Cuts was also nominated for the best record of the year, although that award went to The Cardigans. At the Grammis awards in 2007, The Knife won in all six categories that they were nominated in: Composer of the Year, Music DVD of the Year, Producer of the Year, Pop Group of the Year, Album of the Year and Artist of the Year. Again, they did not attend the award ceremony. On another occasion, they did not come to collect the award but sent a manipulated video that muffled their voices and made them look very elderly."
This filmclip is directed by queer porn director Marit Ostberg...

From what I hear there a fwe killer tracks on the album, but a musical analysis of it leaves it feeling bare of any real chords or melody (I'm not even kidding, people in my scene have been analysising it, for real!)
I'd really like to see the filmclip which was filmed in Brunswick Melbourne, there was outrage that it happened without anyone knowing. Admittedly it only took 45mins for the word to get out...

nearly as good as the best female singer of all time, the late but very great "Karen Carpenter"
have you seen Keiko Toge belting out Karens favourite songs, amazing likeness, but not quite, karen can never be replaced.

Oooh, I've heard it now! And the video for it are just AMAZING. Beyonce is a goddess. Have you seen them yet?
Here are some stills from the video she filmed in Brunswick for those who haven't seen them
And from my favourite video, for 'Partition'
It was a bit of a mixed bag of an album, Drunk in Love and Heaven are pretty crummy. But I really like Partition, Pretty Hurts, No Angel and XO... some others are ok. Most of all I love the videos, she shows more of her body then she ever has before. Which I am soo happy about, she is so exceptionally sexy.
Anyway what do you think of it?

Woah thanks! I've been searching for new music a lot lately and that was a great selection. I like Zebra Katz, when it started I thought I was listening to Tyler the Creator. I'll look into some of the others as well, thanks.
Also, in terms of Beyonce's album I might be able to... hook you up...

Her voice is hauntingly beautiful, and so well complimented by the synth and backup vocals. I'll be listening to her all day.
Here's a sexy song about being lovesick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzqiCNSRcD0

Hey Devochka:)
That's such a cool song you posted!!!:) it's been in my head all day today…i love how it has this kind of 70's New York sounding big grooving bassline going on but then puts it together & contrasts it with such a sexy chilled out cool trippy 90's kind of thing with the piano & sultry, almost spaced-out vocals. I love songs where the lyrics take some conscious unravelling too & become more understandable each time you listen. That's definitely now added to the list of really cool new music i've discovered recently...thanks!!!:)
Really excited you loved the songs i posted:) i totally agree with your thoughts…hauntingly beautiful is the most perfect way of describing Natasha's voice. She is so beautiful with such a captivating & wonderful spirit, an artist i'm both utterly fascinated & enthralled by in equal measure (& more than a little in love with). I could definitely listen to her all day too & also hers is the music i always seem to listen to the most whenever i have a chance to sit & watch the sun come up, the colours seem to fit somehow. Plus i think there is something intangibly sensual about the contrast between the warmth of her voice & the cold of the electronics & synths & this is a recurring theme that runs throughout so much of the music & artists i'm obsessed by. Music, sensuality & sexuality flow inseparably together i think. All cast a spell over you & take over every fibre of your being, completely enveloping & wrapping themselves around you, if that makes sense.
Here is one last song of hers that i'm currently really into that you might like too. I'm not normally a fan of cover versions but this one completely blew my mind, not least because of how amazing it felt when i discovered she covered one of my favourite ever songs by one of my favourite ever bands. I love this song more than i can put in words!! (plus i think the photographs of her used in this video are just so beautiful!!)…

Hey Polaroid, I'm glad you like that song! It's stuck with me since the first time I heard it when someone put it on at my housewarming party. I think it captures the feeling of being lovesick really well.
That was the first time I'd heard Strangelove and I really can't decide if I like the Depeche Mode or Bat for Lashes version better! Speaking of covers, I remember Amanda Palmer singing a cover of Laura when I saw her last year. That's such a beautiful and emotive song . Natasha Khan's cat eye makeup and straight fringe remind me of Elsa_H - what do you think?
I like your description of how music, sensuality & sexuality flow together, each being immersive and transformative. Bat for Lashes is a hypnotic combination of all three elements. Just when I was really feeling like listening to some new music - here she is!
Do you like other genres of electronic music? I'm a big fan of Zomby, Digital Fauna is one of my favourite of his songs. I like that he combines this deep rolling bass with a tinkling, echoing piano-like melody. Also, the name digital fauna has always made me think of the song as describing a ride through a moonlit forest on an alien planet, on some kind of horselike galloping thing.
