Its really exciting stuff hey?

I'm glad I've been given the opportunity to 'walk the walk' after talking the talk for such a long time.  Its great intelligent erotica is being given a voice...

Love your folios too girlie smile xo

I'm really not sure - they haven't even filmed yet...

I'll ask the producer next time I speak to her.

Erotica becoming the mainstream is a pretty hot topic at the moment, so I imagine fairly soon...

Re: doing an interview for 60 minutes

I'm not sure when it airs either, who else is doing it?
I'm a little nervous about going public. I'm moving in with my mum for a bit at the mo i think I'm just going to pray she doesn't feel like watching TV that particular night! however if i wasn't moving in i wouldn't give a damn.
i really wanted to be part of it because i do think its important to get out there that it IS mainstream now, and that the mainstream tastes have changed to.. like, who hear really likes fake boobs?

Maybe you could borrow some ideas from the BA forum post where somebody wants to do it, but is worried if people recognize her.
Sooooo ............. You could try a disguise, wigs, glasses etc, or if you don't go that route, it is said that everybody has a double somewhere, you could maybe convince your mom the TV girl is a double. You could even tell your mom that a friend had seen your double in {some town} and was convinced it was you. Do this before the show airs do that the seeds of this harmless white lie have taken root  smile

To be perfectly honest, I can't believe 60 minutes would do that, they are a fairly reputable news show, but then I am basing that on 60 minutes over here.

Is there a different version of 60 minutes in Australia or GB wherever you are being interviewed ???

Re: doing an interview for 60 minutes

Sounds exciting, I hope you don't get misrepresented. I think these issues will come to public attention properly when TV is dead and 60 mins won't be watched unless people click on it, because in that environment it'll be directly competing with porn :) and perhaps a doc you've made about it yourself. Good luck :)

Re: doing an interview for 60 minutes

Lea I guess it's their job to make ratings, and your job to stand your ground and do only what you're totally comfortable with.  From my last conversation with them, I don't think that's the plan any more.  I am hoping this story will raise a positive profile for progressive erotica without tripping on the obvious cliches and I have some confidence they'll do that.

Re: doing an interview for 60 minutes

Its the Australian 60 minutes and I'm pretty sure they've scrapped the idea of someone getting naked for them.  I honestly don't think they're going for shock tactics here.  But at the same tell they need to sell their story, I guess.

As far as being recognised is concerned I am *so* proud to be representin'.  I've talked to so many people about what we're about, the awesome experience I've had here and so many other things to do with erotica, art, porn and mainstream societies views on these topics.

I feel like I'm being given an opportunity to be 'walking the walk' after the 'talking the talk' for sometime now...

Its very very exciting stuff smile

Re: doing an interview for 60 minutes

Yes, I guess I'm kind of relieved too... I'd much prefer to be passed over than have my face and name put to a story I'm not happy with.

Also the experience did bring about a whole lot of positive change for me...

Swings and round abouts, thats life.

It would've been cool to see, but I can appreciate the concerns about how they portray you. I guess that's kinda the point of shooting yourself - being in control of how you're represented smile

Re: doing an interview for 60 minutes

I think the thing is not to be over awed by something just because it's for TV. When you actively publicize something like a book, you approach the shows you want to be seen on and find your best audience. If someone approaches you and wants you on their TV show they have to prove to you it's worth your time.

Re: doing an interview for 60 minutes

You can watch it at the link below (the screen is on the right hand of the page and you have to see a short ad 1st).

http://video.msn.com/video.aspx/?mkt=en … wsignin1.0

The film makers aren't meeting people but treating them as exhibits or oddities to be sensationalized, which is insulting to them and feels kind of ridiculous when those people aren't  sensational but just interesting.
