Self shoot tip

Take your pics using a video camera, they all have a good photo option and more importantly, they have a viewer you can flip round and see yourself as you take a pic of yourself.

If only I had a video camera!
I'll have to shoot several more folios in order to be able to afford one and by that time I'll be such an expert I won't need the advantage it gives

Hmmm...I had an Aiptek camera once upon a time. Thanks, but I think I should save up for a brand I have more trust in.

Actually I've kinda been looking into the video camera thing. No good reason for it but I'm sure I could find fun things to do with it
Main contenders in my probable price range are by Canon, Sony and Panasonic. I tend to favour Canon for still cameras, but not really that clued up on video, so if you have any recommendations...

i like the fact that i can't see them, partly cos i get those random hot pics, and also if i could see and set them up i'd be there for 12 hours nothing would be good enough

I agree. Though the ones where you manage to take a picture only of ground and sky are a pain, the surprise good shots are worth it

Hi blissed - you have probably forgotten me by now but we used to chat ages ago on here - cool tip about the video camera... I also think getting a SLR camera with a sports mode where it takes a load on one click would produce some interesting shots as you coudl get loads holding the camera in wierd angles (ones which you would normally have trouble hitting the buttons or your arm would ache if you stayed there too long!).

Hi Alisha :) how are you, I haven't forgotten you, I see your sites still there, hope you passed your Graphic design course. Using sports mode is a good idea. I  took a set of pics of me just out of interest and if I was submitting a folio I'd use a video camera on a tripod so in low light I'd get steady shots in focus and I could hit the button with any part of my body, my feet, my nose :)

Thanks for the tip about Aipek, So happens I am looking for a flash Hi def video camera and one thats interesting is the Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1

It takes full Hi def video in slow motion and stills in rapid fire sports mode and you can't flip a viewer round so can't see yourself :)

I did pass that course - with distinction *looks proud* still lots to learn though... My girlfriend will be submitting a folio in the next few months (I finally convinced here here is the place to get naked - plus I can help her choose her shots to submit after she takes them  (read as perv on them) which will be fun
