About ISM_Extra and Upgrading Accounts

The ISM_Extra catefory of sponsorship commenced on March 3rd.  All new members who select an ISM_Extra plan will be able to view and download 3 new categories of material:

Overloads: Folios which don't make it as daily folios
Reloads: New folios by artists who have already had a featured folio
Duets: Fun shoots with 2 participants.  Most are existing ISM artists.  Some duets are M/F couples.

The first Extra content was released on March 3rd and one new folio will be released daily for one week.  After that, there will be at least 3 Extra releases per week, with occasional bonus Extra Extras.  So the amount of Extra content will build slowly as the category grows.

Meanwhile, there is no change to the standard content.  All existing members have access to the primary folios each day. Starting next week, short videos will be available to standard members as well, with no increase in sponsorship cost.

It is not easy to upgrade your existing account, though it is not impossible either.  Depending on how and when you joined, your subscription will be in one of 3 databases:

If you joined by Paypal or cheque, upgrading is quite easy.  Just calculate how much extra you would have to pay for the remainder of your sponsorship period according to the one-shot rates listed on the Join page.  Paypal the extra funds to head@ishotmyself.com and in the message, include a note explaining roughly how you calculated the payment.  We'll then email you back to confirm you've been upgraded.  Or, calculate how much time would have to be deducted from your acccount to equal an upgrade to Extra, email head@ishotmyself.com and we'll adjust your expiry date and email you confirmation.  Come on now, it's just arithmetic!

If you joined before 15th December 2003, you are probably a CCBill customer.  (CCBill is the third party billing company which did the credit card transaction). Your subscription ID, sent in your welcome email, is a 10-digit number. The best solution is to let your membership lapse and rejoin.  Or just rejoin straight away with an Extra plan, but the system doesn't allow us to credit you for unused time.  CCBill is now our backup billing service.

If you joined from 15 December 2003 onwards, you are probably a GM Billing customer.  Your subscription ID will have the prefix 'ism' followed by 6 digits.  If you'd like to upgrade, first use the acccount admin function at http://www.gmbill.com/site/redirect.php to first cancel any rebilling which may be in place.  Then email head@ishotmyself.com, with your username and preferably your subscription ID as well, and request an upgrade.  The amount of unused time will be calculated and the expiry date of your account wil be brought forward, but you'll be upgraded.  So, you'll have a shoretened subscription, but with Extra access.  The calculation will be approximate, but generous in your favour.  When it expires, you can then re-join with the billing plan you prefer.

Note that GM Billing doesn't allow you to rejoin with the same credit card until your previous account has expired.  This is to protect you against accidentally subscribing more than once.

If you've just joined on a 30-day plan, sorry but you'll have to wait it out then rejoin with an Extra plan.  The Extra plans were listed when you joined.

Damn, I just got rebilled a month ago. Can't I just paypal the difference for the remaining two months, cancel before next rebill and join again?

Yes if you have Paypal, you can upgrade even if you originally joined by credit card.

And a note for upgraders: if you get a new useraccoutn after upgrading remove the cookies from ishotmyself before logging in again, or you will still be at your old level.

Yep thanks for that.  Generally if you logout, close your browser, open a new browser (not a new instance of the browser) then login again, it'll all be good.
