hey,
i wanted to start a new thread based on something i brought up in another thread.

so much guilt about masturbation. when my wife masturbates, it's cute, she comes, it's neat. she can do it in the car, before she gets out of bed in the morning, no fuss, no mess.

i can't help but feel like i make a creepy mess. i can't just slink into a private place and get one off at work like she can, without feeling "funny" about it. we've talked about it, and she says i should get over it. as long as it doesn't interfere with our time, it's what i need. it's relaxing. i work 12 hour days, mostly, and alot of time, it gives me my second wind...

i think i am just uptight w/ alot of issues, maybe...

Well being single at 39 means I have the subject well in hand by now. And thats not a joke by any means. I was up tight for years and was told you will burn for it LOL. Now I am ok and joke about it now and have conversations about it. I too was always a bit jealous of women because I thought they have no mess to clean up. After seeing Dirty Girl 1 to 5 I see there are some who have a little more to deal with than me LOL. One of my friends who I cyber with online has had to go get a towel at times LOL. This raises the question of whether masturbation is a public thing or a private thing.  ISM's sister site revolves around the human orgasm, yet it is still presented in a very private way. There is also the issue of the differences between the needs of males and females. Do both sexes masturbate for the same reason, certainly they don't get turned on by the same things. Even within the same sex different thing turn different people on. On that basis, I very much doubt that a significant percentage of our lovely contributors really get turned on to the point where they have to slip away to relieve their built up tensions.

Hi guys.  I've been at a long time.  For me it helps pass the time away on long trips.  Its ok to come in your pants, as long as you don't mind the feeling.  Sort of missing avoiding the wet spot.  Wear jeans, with signs of work stains.  Shower when ya get home.  On hot summers, a pair of shorts are fun with a handy box of kleenex and a place to hide the distinctive evidence.

We've been conducting indepth interviews at Beautiful Agony, in which people confess all the details of their sexual habits, masturbation in particular. We are finding that almost every woman we talk to has masturbated at work or school or in the loo in a club.  Or, on public transport.  If guys do that kind of thing they're creepy, when girls do it, they're sexy.

That's one hell of a deep question fella!
From the male perspective, the male in most societies is considered to be the sexually dominant gender. He is demanding, agressive and gregarious. We all know that the above statements are no longer true and both sexes exhibit each other's tendancies in modern society. We have males who are so timid that they couldn't get an erection to save their lives, if they had a willing, naked female in front of them and we have females who will rip your clothes off and bonk you without even considering the location. However, it takes years, if not centuries for society to change is corporate attitude, therefore men are still sexually crude unpleasant creatures and women are still demure and refined. That's why it considered "creepy" for men and OK for women.

It makes perfect sense to me. If you are indulging in a little rapid relaxation, you can guarantee your female office collegue(s) will be aware of it, because it's  all down to pheromones. The simple fact is that she can smell what you have been up to and I don't mean the distictive odour or ejaculate. She might not even be directly aware of what it is she senses but she knows you've been up to something and, to the female sensory organs, it's got sex written all over it. It's clear that she accepts what you are doing and in my book that makes it socially acceptable, at least in her eyes.
