ARTISTS STATEMENT

Fern von jeglicher Bewertung habe ich mich beim shooten gefuehlt und auch als ich die anderen Fotos gesehen habe. Sieht man jemanden normal und angezogen auf der Strasse bewerte ich sie automatisch und ordne sie den Kategorien "huensch" oder "nicht huebsch" zu. Aber auf allen Bildern sieht man so viel Selbstvertrauen, Courgae und enthuellte Schoenheit, dass man zu keiner anderen Wertung kommen kann als speziell. Speziell, so wie jedes Foto und jede Person speziell ist. ISM war eine Erfahrung, um mich von allen Vorurteilen, von allen Fashion Ikonen zu befreien anstatt nur von meiner Kleidung. Es hat mich von all den Dingen befreit, die einen klein machen und weniger Wert erscheinen lassen. ISM hat mich wertvoll gemacht. Beyond judgement, that's how I felt taking the photos and seeing the pictures of me and others. Clothed and on the street I'd probably judge anyone automatically and categorize them in 'pretty' and 'not pretty', but the project showed me so much confidence, courage and uncovered beauty where I couldn't judge anymore as every single picture just like every single person is special. Special is the only judgement that comes across my mind. ISM was an experience to free myself not just from my clothes, but even more from all the prejudices, role models of fashion and beauty, from all the things that make you small or make you feel less valuable. ISM gave me more value.
