ARTISTS STATEMENT

The human body and an individuals appearance is usually what one is judged upon first meeting and can even determine ones value/worth in societies eyes. Many people my age, even younger and I'm guessing even older people than myself, I know dread the sight of their bodies, wish they could change and do almost anything to alter their bodies as much they can. I too did stooopid diets and worked crazy hours as the gym to try and find happiness with my physical appearance but it wasn't until recent insight in which I learned/realised it isn't our physical selves that we need to dwell on, or alter. Who we are mentally and spiritually is far more important than our physical bonds, and deserves to be liberated and loved, by ourselves especially. Because I've spent so much of my short life worrying about who I was physically/how I was seen by others, I feel I need to celebrate my unique body in order to learn to love myself as a whole, both mentally and physically. Encouraging anyone and everyone to so the same by joining those here who are already doing so and having fun too!

I like to listen to: the sound of waves rolling in and crashing at the beach.

I like to smell: COFFEE! In any form: ground, boiled, injected... just kidding!
I like to taste: COFFEE! Every morning, everyday. Chinese would probably be my favourite type of food.

Why i shot myself: To grow more comfortable with my body and to express my opinion that we should love our bodies and ourselves, not loath them. We are more than our bonds of flesh.
who I'd least like to see shoot themselves: I think that anyone who wants to do it should have the chance to!
who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: Jake Gyllenhaal.
Most outrageous thing I have done: Getting matching Mighty Boosh tattoos with my friends because the show is THAT good.
Bands I like: Beach House, Tame Impala, M83, The Beatles, Baths, Angus and Julia Stone, George Harrison.
Books I like: William Blake's Poetry and Designs, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Consolation of Philosophy.
