ARTISTS STATEMENT

Human notions of beauty are fluid both geographically and historically, with footbinding, corsets, being fat, being skinny, shaving the first couple of inches of hair to highten your forehead, all being highly desirous at various different periods. The current western conception of beauty is seen as inevitable and quite clearly that isn't the case. What excites me about this project is that it creates a space to celebrate humans in all their unpreened, unairbrushed, unplastic surgered forms.
