ARTISTS STATEMENT

I feel that public nudity is something which ought to be embraced rather than shied away from. There is more than enough images of the 'ideal' surrounding us thanks to the fashion industry and pornography. I think that if enough people with different body types all started participating in projects like this, there would be more variety in media which would in turn help to combat impossible standards of beauty in our culture. I am confident in my own body because it's beautiful when it's not being compared to someone else's standard. I guess my ideal is that more people would adopt this perspective and let go of shame and anguish about looking the way they were born to.
