ARTISTS STATEMENT

Hi, my name is Yana. I am from Russia originally, but lived in four different countries and travelled to many more. I am very comfortable inside my body and not at all shy. Nudity is nothing new to me, I've done many modelling jobs wearing nothing but a smile. I Shot Myself seemed like an intriguing project. It proved to be more challenging than I first imagined, not in small part because it's the dead of winter right now and I shot outside. I do believe that everyone's body is unique and beautiful in it's own way. It's all about how you carry yourself and how you feel about yourself deep inside, it's not something one can ever fake, people sense it (your inner confidence or lack of thereof) and treat you accordingly. The most popular women I've known (the ones everybody wanted to date and be with) were not classically beautiful and sometimes not even all that physically attractive.

Why i shot myself: Seemed like an interesting project.
who I'd least like to see shoot themselves: Oh, I dunno, some guy who thinks he is all that and fancies himself a god. Pffft.
who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: A girl I used to know once, she has most amazing, artistic colourful tattoos all over her body.
