ARTISTS STATEMENT

I am an artistic person and have always dabbled in some sort of art whether it be ceramics, millinery, sewing, making bags, quilting etc and I see this is another extension of my creative side. I get blown away by visual creations and can be moved by just a 'colour' put together with another, a shape or a 3D form that has been created by any type of medium. I am always looking at art and craft to capture anything that inspires me to create and ask questions about 'how did you do that?' The human body is another shape in itself, so simple in it's form, but can be so incredibly beautiful and sensual and be a trigger for feelings, desire and wanting that which cannot sometimes be explained. I felt comfortable enough to give this project a go. It got harder before it got easier. I started off with a critical filter that cringed at the photos, but over time I dropped my guard and the artistic person came out and appreciated it for what it was, a celebration of women and nudity and 'why not?' I say. I actually enjoyed it and hope to do it again with more of an 'anything's possible' view.

biggest passion in my life: My heart. What makes it beat, speed up, slow down and everything in between. That includes exercise, family, friends and life.
I like to listen to: all music. Current artists like Rihanna, Usher, Beyonce and sentimental favourites.
I like to watch: anything that is meaningful, moving, challenging and visually interesting.
I like to smell: everything! I'm a sniffer from way back. Newborn baby skin, new clothes, flowers.
I like to taste: soft textures, sweet for food but dry for drinks, coffee, chilli and wasabi. Mind altering tastes.
I like to feel: again anything soft; cashmere, soft leather, soft skin, hair...all natural fibres.
favourite part of my body: What a question?! My green eyes because they are in the minority.
favourite part of someone else's body: I love a man's chest/pecs and appreciate them more as they get older.
Why i shot myself: I have spent the last 14 years looking after others and living in the constraints of being a responsible grown up with conventional rules. It was time to let my old 'free spirit' out again!
who I'd least like to see shoot themselves: Perfectionists.
who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: More women my age.
