| ARTISTS STATEMENT |
I think the female form is a beautiful thing, I found this project particularly intriguing as it allows an outsider to get a perspective on how women view their own bodies. I feel like the way that I choose to shoot myself is illuminating as to how I feel about my own skin. I love my body so why not share it? I think there's unneccessary stigma surrounding nude photography and erotica, the female nude is something that has been celebrated in art since the beginning of time and I loved contributing to that in my own small way. Given the way that the participants in this project shoot themselves, the possibilty of any exploitation is removed and you're simply left with a very personal celebration of a woman's body. I think it's beautiful and empowering and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
