ARTISTS STATEMENT

When I was a teenager I'd go to parties and guys would put up porn on overhead projectors. Everyone would be drinking and having fun but every now and then I'd catch another girls eye and know that they felt as uncomfortable as I did. That feeling never left me, that the images on those screens were not meant for me. That erotic images of women were only for men to look at and enjoy. But life isn't like that. Sexuality isn't only the domain of men. So we need to do projects like this to reclaim our own bodies, to acknowledge our sexuality in a way that is both meaningful and fun. So that when teenage girls are looking at the internet they see images of women actively participating in their own carnality rather than as receptacles for the desires of others.
