ARTISTS STATEMENT

As one of my good friends has pointed out, I am an adventurer, with the pith helmet to prove it and everything. So when I first stumbled upon ISM, I knew I had to do it. When I first started living in Denmark, and passed such beautiful scenery everyday on the train, I knew I needed to do it outside. I was amazed at how comfortable I felt skyclad, out in the open; but I probably shouldn't have been, because nowhere do I feel more myself than outside, steeped in nature and my own imagination. I believe that as we grow, we need to keep telling stories, just as we need to keep playing, lest we find ourselves suddenly old. So, inspired by my location in the country of Hamlet, the fictional Prince of Denmark, I wanted to tell a story based on one of my favourite literary females, Ophelia. I wanted to explore her journey from sweet, singsong madness into the dusk, using my location as a sort of dreamscape. I consider myself a storyteller, and during this shoot I feel like I discovered even more stories to tell, inspired by my own boldness and my field of flowers.

who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: any of my friends - I'd love to see how they express themselves - plus, they're all gorgeous
Most outrageous thing I have done: I jumped out of a perfectly good plane for no reason, aka skydiving
Bands I like: right now I'm quite fond of Alanis Morissette, but U2 and Bond are always favourites
Books I like: I have to pick? Let's see... Jane Eyre, The Other Boleyn Girl, Rhapsody... and anything Shakespeare
Films I like: Lord of the Rings, Serenity
