ARTISTS STATEMENT

Art can liberate the imagination and subjectivity from the constraints of the present social order. It is a platform for reaching the public. If you label something as art the viewer will generally look at in a different way. Public nudity has been constructed to be a 'bad' thing or a rebellion against the status quo. Nudity in art causes unnecessary argument. I think my body is a shell and I can no longer be bothered debating with the conservative majority about where and when it is appropriate to be naked. Whether my naked body is considered art or not by any given person is irrelevant to me. I think you can find 'art' in anything, and think art should not have any boundaries or constraints. I would like to imagine that a lot of my daily life could be labelled as art. My idea of a utopian society is one that was anarchic and free, and therefore nudity would not be debated on the grounds of public morals, but rather it would be a personal choice. My body is not disgusting, and it shouldn't have to be hidden because of other people's morals. I am Human, I am brave enough to call myself an artist, and I am naked, so FUCK YOU if you think that is wrong.
