ARTISTS STATEMENT

I used my body as a blank canvas, where I painted images and colours on my skin. By doing this I wanted to produce art on art, creating different forms, shapes and angles with my body and seeing how images and colours could either draw the attention to certain areas of my figure or distract from parts of my body which I am not so fond of, or feel are not as attractive as other parts. I found I took more pleasure from looking at myself when I had added the make-up. Although my shape had not changed, I felt the colours and lines showed my body in a more interesting and beautiful light. I loved the freedom and sexual feeling I got from being nude. And photographing myself made me feel mischievious and some what naughty!
