BOBBY

ARTISTS STATEMENT
The most confronting aspect of the project was shooting my face. Odd really, that the part of my body I expose to everybody, anybody, everyday... Our face gives us away and yet we use our faces to hide away as well. I heard about the site, and was curious. I happily walk around nude, I've done life modelling for drawing classes, but this was another perspective again... The complex, intriguing and beautiful female body. Participating in the project was exciting and empowering. I claimed space for myself. I am grateful for the opportunity to explore. I am not a typical beauty. I've never thought of photographing myself. I am an art student. Identity and body politics are contemporary issues investigated through theory and practice. I hope this project leads into drawing projects, and the drawing projects back into photography.
