ARTISTS STATEMENT

'Breakfree' describes my efforts to break free from the psychological imprisonment of my own conditioned thinking. Why was it that I could appreciate everyone else's uniqueness and individual beauty, yet remained locked into some kind of body image / beauty ideal for myself? This project is part of a reconnection with my soul and the undamaged portion of my psyche. I am determined and desire to find myself acceptable and worthy of self expression through my body. The freedom of self acceptance has empowered me above and beyond any praise or admiration from others in the past or in the future, because it is eternal. I love to compose art and am especially interested in colour, tone and shape. The human body is an unendingly rich source of inspiration for art stemming from these elements and I would love to continue exploring this through shooting myself again.
