ARTISTS STATEMENT

I have always been enamoured with people who have had the confidence to put themselves out there in this context. This gave me an opportunity to try it out for myself and really lean into different views and perspectives of myself. I've always been a fan of photography and have dabbled a little bit but never of myself like this. It's been such a beautiful experience to embrace my body as a whole and also imagine others enjoying my shots. I found beauty in my body in ways I've never before. Art is something that as I've got older, I've really tried to incorporate into my life more. As someone who strived to "do the right thing" and get the "right job", art fell by the wayside. Now as I have time and space to explore it more, it's becoming such a valuable part of who I am.

Why i shot myself: I shot myself for as a challenge to myself after an awful break up. I wanted to see myself as a sexual creature again and find beauty where I felt like I'd lost it.
