ARTISTS STATEMENT

When I was younger, my mother was a life model for a class on multiple occasions. I think that because she was so comfortable with how she looked and how she presented to the world really made me okay with being nude in my home. From a very young age I was exposed to female and male nudity and I've never shied away from it. It's natural and beautiful. We all need to be more accepting of all shapes and sizes because it's what makes us human. I really wish that there wasn't such abnormal standards that are put into media and such, it makes me sad that there are people that hold themselves to an impossible standard, don't get me wrong I also have a lot of self hatred but I'm trying to combat that by doing things like this. It's a small step to being able to be comfortable with myself as I am and that I don't need to change at all.

Why i shot myself: I did it because I want to break down the barriers of self hatred and be more comfortable with who I am and how I look.
