ARTISTS STATEMENT

I think I Shot Myself is a very unusual project and it's very joyful to women, it's radically different from 90% of the photo projects I've seen in terms of nudes. There is no vulgarity here, which photographers like to do, men who went into nude photos for the sake of beautiful naked bodies! Here is how women see themselves, their naturalness and sexuality, not edited by other people. No nude photographer's template of what a woman's body should look like, no standards of photos. Being yourself is the main rule and there is no one to worry you. I really think it's another art and skill that many have lost in our modern crazy world - it's just being yourself. It was like taking a picture of yourself and loving yourself while doing it. For example, when I'm photographed by a man, I move like this and take this shape to feel my power over him, to impress the viewer in the photo. And then I think about myself. And here, I don't think about others, I think about myself, about showing who I really am. This project is like unconditional love, when you feel loved.

Why i shot myself: I want to share my energy with others. I believe that my crazy energy will fulfil others.
who I'd least like to see shoot themselves: Please don't tell my Grandma about this project. Wouldn't want to see her here, it would just be too awkward!
who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: It would be great to see my first love here. Her name was Eva, we were young and it was the biggest love of the whole summer
Most outrageous thing I have done: I once lost a bet and had to ride naked in an elevator. When I stopped on the 9th floor, and the elevator door opened - my neighbor and his son were standing there. It was terribly embarrassing
Bands I like: The King and the Jester, Korn, Rammstein
Books I like: I really like books on psychology and psychoanalysis. Favorite writers are: Freud, Daniel Gilbert, Eric Berne. I also love neuroscience, it's just the science that's blown my mind lately
Films I like: My favorite genre is superhero movies. I am a true Marvel fan. Favorite movies: Iron Man, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Deadpool
