ARTISTS STATEMENT

For me nudity and art go side by side. I never ever feel as confident, beautiful and powerful as when I am naked before an audience - whether this audience is in the same room with me or on the internet. I love my body and love seeing other bodies, especially naked. I think that every human body is beautiful and precious and that every human body is a piece of art itself. But a naked body is not just beautiful - it can tell a story. My body is telling you a story of going through a lot of traumatic and painful experiences but surviving and blooming stronger and more beautiful, of motherhood, and of sheer happiness when I made the decision to have surgery that I have been dreaming about for 10 years and of accepting myself with all the imperfections, age signs and individuality. I decided to be a part of the Ishotmyself project because I want nudity to be more celebrated and people to stop considering naked bodies as something obscene. Be naked, make art.
