ARTISTS STATEMENT

At first I felt a little unsure about this as I'd never really done anything like this before. I have a tendency to want to strive for artistic perfection as I see it in my mind. I found it difficult at first to make my surroundings look the way I wanted them to, especially because of the limited space within my apartment. But it didn't take me long to understand what I really needed to do to finish my folio. It was very freeing to remind myself that the folio is about me and expressing myself in the most authentic way I can instead of always trying to take the most artistically perfect images. Of course I still felt like I wanted to include some artistic means to the shoot because that is at the end of the day who I am, but I realised that I didn't need a set and a backdrop and props to make it so. This experience really helped me be more comfortable in my authentic self, especially on camera, and I am very grateful for that.

Most outrageous thing I have done: I like to fill my life with little outrageous moments but out of all of them learning fluent English has to be up there
