ARTISTS STATEMENT

I think shooting myself for this project gave me a boost in confidence about my body, physically and sexually. Expressing ourselves nude should definitely be perceived as more natural, as this is the state we were born, not something that we should hide and cover up, even if it's not to the state of full nudity, but it's so liberating embracing your body. I have been topless and naked on a beach (the latter when I was alone) before and it's incredible. A few months ago I was out running at the beach and I had been thinking a few times doing this, this is the perfect opportunity to strip and go for a swim. There was no one around and being completely naked in the water was so freeing and natural. I do have to say, I wasn't in there long because I was slightly scared of someone seeing me naked, but the feeling of euphoria after was amazing.

I like to feel: Energised after a walk in nature or by the sea or good yoga practice, I get a feeling of contentment in my heart

Why i shot myself: I shot myself because I thought it would be a fun project to get creative with my body and really appreciate every part of my body.

Most outrageous thing I have done: Performed sexual acts with a work colleague in the middle of work where people could easily have walked in, we did this way too many times
Bands I like: Too many to write, I love listening to all sorts of music. Stereophonics, Ludovico Einaudi, Manic Street Preachers are a few though
Books I like: I read a lot and never read the same book twice so this is hard. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho (this inspired travelling), 1984 by George Orwell, The Thorn Birds by Coleen McCullough
Films I like: Hot Fuzz, PS I Love You, Love Actually - these are probably my most watched films
