ARTISTS STATEMENT

I feel that we're a lot more open about our sexuality these days but there is still an unrealistic representation of sex in the adult industry. I started watching pornography from a young age and it's disturbing to see how the portrayal of women can affect your personal outlook on body image. Sex is such a normal part of life and yet a lot of pornography shows women being victimized, dominated or objectified. Women are represented as one body type which is usually slim with perfect upright breasts - but that isn't the reality. For years I hated my breasts and would always hide them at any opportunity. Now that I'm older, I've learnt to ignore what society says is beautiful and to just enjoy being in my own skin. Your body is the greatest instrument that you'll ever own. Try to love and appreciate it.

Why i shot myself: I wanted to challenge myself by shooting in a way that I don't normally shoot myself. I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it!
who I'd least like to see shoot themselves: No one. I'd love everyone to do this so that there wasn't such a strong stigma attached to nudity
who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: I would love to see more curvier and bigger women do this shoot. I grew up overweight and battled with body confidence for many years
