Accepting the colour of your skin! I grew up in a small beach town in the Sunshine Coast, QLD. Growing up there, it wasn't very multicultural, we were the only dark skin family in the town. All of my friends had blond hair, blue eyes, pale skin. Every year they would be asked out to the school dances, the carnival, being kissed in the playground, but I was never asked. I felt that the colour of my skin and my crazy hair and big eyes were the reason. It took many years until I was about 21 to accept my colour, this was when I moved to the big city, and saw how many different ethnicities there were, and regardless of any color everyone was accepted and was seen as beautiful.
