ARTISTS STATEMENT

I chose to take on this project as a statement to myself. I'm sure lots of people on here have written about how they have struggled with body image issues, and I am no different. I am in the process of learning to respect my body more, appreciate it the way it should be, and this is just one way of doing that, for myself. I am not a particularly shy person and do not have a problem with nudity, and was very happy to be a part of I Shot Myself. I consider it to have positive connotations and for me, it combines new age feminism, ethics and art. I had a lot of fun doing this and I think the pictures reflect that.
