ARTISTS STATEMENT

I started puberty over 20 years ago and I still don't understand my relationship with my own body. I guess this is one reason why I got involved with Feck. Physically I enjoy the freedom of being naked and the feeling of warm air on my skin. Psychologically I am still trying to understand my own phases of body dysmorphia. I love being naked yet I often hate my body. I am learning to love it slowly. I can't believe that in the 21st century nudity is still taboo. Clothes should be for nothing more than warmth and creative expression. Everyone should feel free to be as naked as they want to be. I think that, as a society, our perception of beauty and our mental health would improve greatly if we were, quite literally "exposed" to nudity, and could see all shapes, ages, sizes and races. Our notion of "imperfections" would change drastically.
