ARTISTS STATEMENT

Life is about getting wet. It's about diving in way over your head into the deep end. It was my dad who taught me to love taking my clothes off & jumping into cold water. Lakes oceans, ponds & mountain streams, it was always about 'the plunge' and then how good one feels afterwards. That cold water always wakes me up and reminds me that I have skin like nothing else. I love that feeling of shedding all the layers. It feels like truth. Besides, I've always loved the view all the way down to my toes. Getting 'buck naked' has always felt like the most powerful way there is to 'buck' all the programs telling me I'm 'wrong', telling me 'not to' and that I should trade in my pleasure for 'shame.' I've come to recognise in myself and other women and men I meet, a deep yearning for the return of Goddess circles and temples; rites and rituals; sacred holy sex rites and the deep wisdom of the feminine that has been missing for so long. I strive to promote that in my art and in my every day expression. I seek the wisdom that was once a part of the mystery schools in ancient times. I have observed that it is possible to re-create the Temple wherever beauty, pleasure and sacred intention come together. My experiences of deepest connection and my wildest pleasures have all been in some way connected with reverence for the sacred feminine and an intention to create a sacred temple space. I find glimpses of this vision in "I Shot Myself." I have gratitude for the opportunity to join the Feck community of artists and viewers of the naked female form, finding wild beauty. Afterthought: If I ever do run for political office, promoting the beauty of naked women will have to be a major part of my platform!
