ARTISTS STATEMENT

I had a ball doing these projects, as my first time being both the subject and the photographer it was definitely more of a challenge than I had initially thought! Producing the photographs has really created a higher awareness of myself, exploring your naked body and being able to capture parts of it that you have never really seen or perhaps noticed before, the way you want to, in a raw light of nudity I think is an exquisite experience of self-expression. Sex is something that everyone has (whether solo or not) and I would truly hope, enjoys. Therefore being comfortable with ones sexuality, nakedness and the way they so feel to express it is something I believe is somewhat of a necessity. In doing "I Shot Myself" I have achieved for myself one aspect of this self expression. As it's no fun eating one flavour of ice cream for life, my goal for future folios will be not to limit my photographs, creating a colourful mixture. I hope to have more photographs to add soon. Until then, enjoy!
