ARTISTS STATEMENT

I wanted to contribute to Project_ISM for a number of reasons. After looking at the website I realised how beautiful all of the artists were and could feel the reasons for which they had participated and I could already feel why I wanted to as well. I have become so excited recently with who I am and happy in my skin. I have a strong sense of love for myself inside and out. I guess that if being nude and 'shooting myself', it may help others to feel better about themselves and inspire them to participate in this liberating experience. We are living in a world that is constantly portraying beauty as only on the outside and even that 'beauty' is incredibly fake and very rarely achieved naturally. One of the hardest things for me to do within my photoshoot was exposing my most vulnerable thing about me, the birthmark on my bum. For as long as I can remember I've felt embarrassed by it, mainly because I was teased by a sibling when growing up saying it was my 'poo stain'. This wasn't nice for me and as I got older and had lovers I always made a real effort to hide it from them. During a long term relationship I eventually got the courage to show my boyfriend my birthmark. His reaction was so beautiful and perfect that it made me question what was I so worried about the whole time? He kissed it! I was amazed and thank him eternally for making me realise how it just doesn't matter. Ultimately nothing on the outside matters and it truly is what is on the inside that counts. You can look at a woman or man who is so insanely beautiful on the outside but could be horribly unattractive on the inside. Along my journey of life I feel I have become a very powerful woman by loving myself for all that I am. I sincerely hope others, who if not already, will eventually feel the same way. We are all beautiful beings of light who are cherished every moment of everyday, always and forever...

Why i shot myself: To show my beauty and to empower women. To be proud of all that I am. To make people smile and feel good.
who I'd least like to see shoot themselves: A hard question to answer for me - perhaps someone who was intentionally doing it to make others feel small and worthless...I can't see that happening though...I hope...
who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: A man/woman who has become proud of how they look & feel. Someone who is now screaming out confidence & love for themselves. That is actually all of the people who've already 'shot&#

Most outrageous thing I have done: Honestly, I can't think of anything...
Bands I like: Lily Allen, Alanis Morissette, Kings of Leon + many others. I also love drum and bass, dubstep and psytrance.
